Ashgabat Park - a symbol of friendship between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan
Ashgabat Park in Tashkent was built in April 2018 in honor of the friendship between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, therefore it received the same name as the capital of this state. Occupies an area of 12 hectares, on which two zones are formed: walking and entertainment. It houses the country's tallest Ferris wheel with air-conditioned cabins and the only dolphinarium. An octagonal star and a horse, the main symbols of Turkmenistan, are often used in architecture and decoration. So, at the entrance, visitors are greeted by a fountain in the form of a star with a herd of stallions, and there is a similar one in the central part, but of a larger size.
A staircase leads down to the entrance and an escalator under the roof. After the descent, there is a pompous gate with the name of the object. The green space is made in the form of a rectangle that encircles a running and cycling path with bushes around. On the other side there is an indoor amphitheater with an auditorium. In shape, it resembles a bird flying into a nest - a miniature copy of the new Ashgabat airport. Concerts and festive animation are held here. There are flower beds and hedges, benches and modern art sculptures, such as a chess field. There are food stalls and two public toilets.
If you turn to the right, a second zone appears with 60 attractions and slot machines. In addition to the Ferris wheel, there is a large-scale area for karting. Entertainment constructions are built for any age: from a small train for the smallest to a roller coaster for adults. Between them are shops selling fast food and souvenirs. There are several cash desks. In the evening, artificial lighting is turned on. For decoration, sculptures of characters from cartoons and comics are placed: Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Puss in Boots, etc. There is a parking lot for hundreds of cars adjacent to the square.
