Uzbekistan has been named “Promising Travel Destination 2026” at the Travel & Adventure Show 2026 in New York, one of the largest tourism exhibitions in the United States.
The event took place on 24–25 January at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and brought together travel agencies, airlines, media, and tourism investors.
Uzbekistan’s national stand, organised by the Tourism Committee, highlighted the country’s Silk Road heritage, historic sites, traditional crafts, food culture, and a growing range of modern travel routes for different types of visitors.
The award was confirmed with an official certificate presented during the exhibition.
For many travellers, Tashkent is the starting point. As the capital city and main gateway, it’s where most visitors arrive and begin exploring Uzbekistan, with its mix of museums, architecture, metro stations, restaurants, and a year-round events scene.
Tashkent also made it onto Condé Nast Traveller’s “Best Places to Go in Asia in 2026” list, adding to the city’s growing international profile.
More than 37,000 tourists from the United States visited Uzbekistan in 2025. With visa-free travel now available for US citizens and continued international promotion, an increase in American visitors is expected.
